Born in Iowa, Miss Grass taught Physical Education at Sacramento Jr. College until she retired in the early 1960's. She took up weaving and stitchery, placing Second in the 1967 Sacramento County Fair Senior Clothing and Textile show in the "Handwoven Afghans" category. In 1968, she placed Third in the same category.
Miss Grass' partner, Dr Margaret E Meyer, was a Professor of Veterinary Public Health at UC Davis.
